About me

Corien Pompe
Visual Artist | Traditional Shoemaker | Designer

Following my graduation from the Design Academy Eindhoven, I pursued a versatile international career spanning more than three decades as a design manager at companies including Weverij De Ploeg, Volvo and Philips.

Throughout all those years, I also continued to paint and develop myself artistically through various studies. The common thread in my work can be recognised in the interplay between concept, identity, material and experiment. Driven by curiosity, I am constantly searching for new connections and challenges. The relationship between form, technique and human experience continues to inspire me.

Under the name Art/cm² I work with acrylic and mixed media on canvas, with human beings in all their complexity as the central focus. Under the name POMPYZ I design and manufacture shoes in which art, design and craftsmanship come together.

Alongside my autonomous work, I coach young talent and give workshops under the banner of Homo Ludens – the playing human. In these, I invite people to discover their own creative core in an intuitive way.
